I think it's hilarious how the dude thinks that those robbie triangles hide the ugly underneath that he can't get out.

Just up the ph a little, agitate and let dwell longer, and that nasty under the triangles should come right out. But Nah! triangles look better, lol

Those pics pretty much line up with my real world VLM experience.

Works pretty darn well on dirt, but on spots, spills, stains...not so much.

I see much worse than these before and after on FB. The standards are very low or people are afraid to criticize because they will get jumped on by the other hack cleaners. I would suggest using the Mikey Board FB page by posting the highlights and keeping the high cleaning standards of this board. Would be doing the Industry a favor and good PR for this board. IMO.

here's the problem Bob

Most cleaners who are using VLM in homes are doing so for a couple reasons.

1. Low cost of entry.
2. Could not figure out how to clean with HWE with out over wetting and it's effects
3 . Like Willy and Goomer, can't access their clients with a truckmount, but unlike Willy and Goomer, are too lazy to do the right thing and use a well formulated portable

What with all the Encap Evangelists these days preaching how one pad will hold the equivalent to a 120 gallons of extracted soil, it's easy to see how they can land a few of the dopier fish in the sea.

Getting back to my pork chop theory, most homeowners would be thrilled with that half assed job and most cleaners wouldn't know whats possible if they haven't been trained in proper HWE usage.

Absorbent pad cleaning is best left to well maintained low pile carpet with just a few surface drips OR grey glue downs where you can't see into the pile.

Let me know when you see a thread here that you feel would make a good FB post.

Those pictures are pretty sad...I do a fair bit of pad cleaning too but I would never call that acceptable.

Yea I don't know. FB doesn't do substance very well. So many different opinions on every post it is white noise without a moderator.

How would you have tackled this one?

Vacuum
Prespray
Crb everything
Pad with gray microfiber with blue stripes
Pad with white rayon loops and cotton loops
Watch out for spots, spills and treat them accordingly if needed. And repeat padding if needed.

Sometimes repeat some of the steps if needed.

Finish with grooming. (and blowers if they really really want it dry quickly.)

That's the thing about this industry, the word clean is subjective... Is it cleaner than before?!? It's not considered clean to my standards, but I don't have low standards... After seeing other jobs that customers say is acceptable, I makes me confident that we blow our customers expectations out of the water...

Ed York once asked us to give them the clean their willing to pay for.... We just couldn't do it... This was when Cleanway would call us to sub work.... Yes, we did take on some jobs to fill the gaps and get some income coming in...

Hold yourself to higher standards and let the rest follow...
