Cleaned 8 small ones today. Got one more but it's a shaggy, viscose thing that I picked up yesterday. I'll take a look at it tomorrow.

I thought maybe the gear was where it was either taken from or can be used in a larger machine/guide

You can tell the scrubber is home-built when they use an old gear to offset the weight of the motor on the other side.

I'd have to see the results of rugs coming out of that centrifuge to believe it would work as effectively as high-speed one tube spinner.
