Let say I move to a new city and want to dominate the Goog, what domain name should I try and get?

newcitycarpetcleaning.com?
carpetcleaningnewcity.com?
carpetcleanersnewcity.com?

Some experts say a keyword rich url doesn't do squat.

Me, I like to have carpet cleaning in it.

I guess I can't keep secrets but this has worked for me

http://www.carpetcleaning(area code).com

Like

http://www.carpetcleaning972.com

putting dashes in lets google know it's another word as well

Example
Carpet-Cleaning-916.com
etc.

I try to find a balance between good for the Googles and good for the custys.

Out of what you have I would put

www.carpetcleaningnewcity.com

Dashes turn off customers IMO.

I imagine that no one searches the area code on google. I think the page content / tags drive the results.

If you want to make it really easy on yourself, then try to get an exact match domain.

What I mean by that is, let's say the main keyword in that area is "Carpet Cleaning New City"

Then I would try to buy carpetcleaningnewcity.com or .net or .org

If that's not available then I would try carpet-cleaning-new-city.com .net .org

If all those are taken then try adding your state abbreviation at the end.

When you have a domain name like that it makes it really easy to build backlinks and optimize and Google will think you're the most relevant website for that search term since the url is an exact match.

One website I like to use to search for these domains is http://bustaname.com. I use their Quick Domain Check and just start typing in the name and it lets me know right away if it's available or not. That way I'm not wasting time searching for domains.

Hope that helps.
