Of lightly soil carpet
looks like it doesn't need cleaning, but been around a year since last cleaning

Medium soild carpet
Starting to see the traffic pattern, darker areas in the walk ways, carpet colour looks a little dingy

And heavy soild carpets.
There ain't no way I'm walking on this with bare feet or am going to lay on it.
You can't tell what colour it is supposed to be.

How would you describe each type of soiling.

Our guys answered an instructor in a manner similar to Ron.

He was disgusted and told them how spoiled they were.

He said:
Light soil is anytime you can still tell what color the textile is through the dirt.

Medium soil is when you can only tell the color of the textile when you move furniture or turn over a cushion.

Heavy soil is when you stick like Velcro and have to wear a respirator to clean. I have to admit that this customer really appreciates a marginal improvement, unlike those clean people that want you to remove things that aren't there yet. :wink:

Depends on how many heavy soiled carpets you get called to.

It seems as if you are headed in this direction with the question:

"Ms. Finkelgroover, according to my soil intensity chart, your carpets are heavily soiled. I must charge you the heavily soiled rate".

I think it would a negative moment of truth to tell my valued customer "Why have you not called me in the last 5 years? You pay the filty penalty. One mans floor is another mans ceiling. Sure I have to work harder to clean the heavily soiled carpet, sometimes it is lightly soiled and the job is easy. In the end it all will balance out.
