What do you guys love or hate as an upholstery tool? Will it work with a porty?
Thanks

Hands down the best I have used is the dri master from HydraMaster.

Fast, easy to use, leaves fabric drier and you can repeat cleaning strokes over an especially dirty spot without concern of over wetting.

old style drimaster, haven't tried the new one yet, but no, it will not work with a porty (goes through a TON of water). My next favey is the good old Prochem UPH tool, for its bulletproof construction and full vac and solution adjustability.

Prochem tool. I don't care for the drimaster type tools at all. It's whatever your used to i guess. I use cleaning techniques that don’t transfer over to the drimaster. The Prochem tool works great with a porty.

The hydro-kinetic upholstery tools will not allow you to spray fabric from a distance - a must IMO when cleaning upholstery.

I have been using KleenRite upholstery tools for too many years to remember, and they are the bomb - for me.

They make 2 distinct models - one for a portable, and one for a truckmount.

Reason for those 2?

The truckmount tool by-passes (actually dumps extra water, but...) water so you can keep the heat steady at the tool.

The portable model by-passes nothing, so it uses less water, but gives you the same water at the jet as the truckmount tool does.

Just take off the vac cuff of the Hydrokinetic and spray to your hearts content Bob.

Actually you don't even have to do that. If there is no fabric touching the face plate of the tool as when you are cleaning, you can get a fine spray to mist the fabric.

Not sure it is a must, but if you say so. Might be because you don't use the Hydrokinetic, then it may be more normal to spray the fabric and then vac it up.

Remember, Steam Way sold the rights to that tool, so now everyone can want it and have it.

I have always used the upholstery tool that is not internal but is still enclosed to prevent overspray. It works great, but my arm gets tired pretty quick. I wouldn't mind trying a drimaster tool. I guess every cleaner needs to have one of each on the truck.

I carry both in my truck, the prochems for really nasty stuff, although I do find myself getting more comfortable on really dirty upholstery with the drimaster.
