What the hell happened by the front door

I stopped by my favorite restaurant for breakfast this morning and found all these weird jelly beans size spots by the front door that nobody has any idea..

remember I padded this a couple weeks ago and I'm very impressed with how clean it still looks

Looks like a golfer came in and wiped his feet with his cleats still on.

Maybe from the wheels on the rolley thing next to the door being moved over to clean.....possibly with a locked wheel....but there doesn't seem to be a trail

or from a mat

Some tar in the parking lot or on the sidewalk near the door that people are walking through and it is getting transferred onto the carpet.

Or even on the threshold itself.
