I was sent this today for advice..
Upholstery tool marks?
I "fixed" someone else's mess that looked like that...They were about to buy $10000 worth of couch and loveseat pair if I couldn't make it go away.
I misted warm water on it and used an orbital sander with yellow Costco microfiber rags. And a final hand wipe down with microfibers to set the pile in the same direction.. It came out great.
Another question to consider is...is it natural or synthetic? What is the furniture worth?
What is your time to fix it worth?
Who is going to pay for this?
Get those answers first Michael.
Non grooming caused it. Can only be fixed by re-wetting and grooming.
I have a sectional I did the same thing to the outside back on.
I cleaned all our carpet, stairs and all the upholstery in the house.
The outside back dries the fastest, it dried before I could groom it. I was too tired to re-wet and groom it.![]()

Now I am all over my guys about grooming quicker too.......

The fix? What's wrong with it?
