A guy who under charges and does great work

Or

A cleaner who charges a ton and does Ok work?

Good question.
The first guy helps the customer but hurts himself because eventually he will go out of business because he is not making a profit. You know he wouldn't be able to afford the good life of Menudos, golf and skiing.

The second guy hurts the industry because the customer figures that if this is the best she can get from a professional she may not call for cleaning again. He also hurts himself by not getting referrals which means he has to continually market for new customers which is more costly.

As a consumer, I would say a cleaner that charges a ton and does ok work. I would be pissed if I paid someone some good $$$ and got shitty work. If I had someone do the best job possible and charge a very low rate, I would feel bad and tip him cause I feel I would be ripping him off.

Someone who doesn't fill out his profile.

Let's see,
worse? you have to give us in what respect.

The high price ok guy is good for us and good for himself. If he is getting that money he is probably a good saleman and business person. If the clean is "ok" he will still probably convince the customer that it is a good or even great job. Customer education is a broad (no pun) spectrum.

Great work and low price?
That will hurt everyone.
Sure the customer is happy this time but the guy will be out of a job next time and she will expect to pay the same and get the same service from someone else. And there will be less work for the guy trying to make a living instead of doing charity work.
F all that.

I am sure Obama would disagree.
