Where do I find the "Temperature balance orifice" and the "Temperature relief valve" on a 370?

Couple of weeks ago unit was making too much heat and shutting down(never happened before). Descaled and cleaned filters, etc... As recommended.

Well... Now it's not making enough heat. If I put my temp gauge on max temp it will get up to 200, if I have it set in the middle, I'm cleaning at 150...

Sapphire manual lists these as causes for loss of temperature:

Temperature relief valve on water box is stuck open.
Temperature balance orifice missing
Engine RPM is low.
Defective temperature gauge.

I doubt it's the engine or gauge.

If it's the temp relief valve would it be dumping water into waste tank? Doesn't seem to be dumping.

So anyone have an idea where a temp relief valve or a Temperature balance orifice???

Thanks fellas.

Temp relief valve is on the water box.
Temp orifice is on the left side (facing front of unit). You should be cleaning the screen every few weeks at least. Take the orifice out with either a 3/32" or 1/8" Allen. If it is plugged it will cause the machine to act weird. Pretty identical to the Prochem 405. I would think a clogged orifice would cause the machine to have temp spikes. One of the functions of that little orifice is to keep a constant loop of heated water going back to water box. It keeps the gauges accurate and allows the temp sending units to open and shut the HX on or off (with the Bimba. )
So if your temp is bad it's probably something Bimba related. Make sure of course that your temp relief valve isn't flowing constantly. Run machine with waste tank off. If it's constantly flowing fresh water into the waste tank-it's the temp relief valve. But I would simply turn the heat on and off. (with machine running and vac hoses hooked up, pump on). You should see the shaft moving in and out on your heat exchanger.

You rock, Justin!

Thank for taking the time to help, it appreciated and your info was great. I knew about the orifice, didn't know it was for heat.

It's been happening for a few days. I make a post on the board this afternoon and sure enough, worked fine rest of day...:hopeless: So, apparently an intermittent issue.

Lube the bimba and check the orifice!
