Re: Leaky Quick Connects

The proper order with quick connects is the same as in nature. The male should always be on the tool, and the female should always bring the goods.

An over the hill, bulletin board carpet cleaner is not qualified to be a guru.

As a real cleaner, with 20 years on the truck, I am the master of quick connect placement on my rig.

So KMA.

I install ours;

Female ATM
Male on the tools

BTW, I'm no "gUrOO", Bob
I just know what "I" like, and that's how "I" do it.

Bawb thinks you should push the wand against the hose run instead of pulling it and keeping the hoses off your legs. Who gives a shit what he thinks is the right way?

Re: Leaky Quick Connects

Well since I run a one man operation...the first step is to attached the wand to the vac AND the sol line......and then we pull towards the house..stopping at the door, to gather hoses...

If the QD were backwards as Mr Sutley does...the female disconnect would catch on every walk paver or step edge that it was pulled over...thus ....

releasing itsef and becoming ....disconnected!

But WTF do I know...i only been doin' this shit for FORTY years!

Let me get this straight? You attach the wand to the hoses and DRAG them across the ground to the door and then pull more slack and then DRAG those dirty ass hoses into the house??

Like I said who gives a shit?

I am no high end cleaner but damn that SCREAMS HACK. OMFG! Please tell me I misread or misunderstood what you were saying.

Yes i run BOTH hoses into the house at the same time...go back out and connect then fire the truck up...i'm pushing the wand inside of THREE MINUTES!Most of the time i'm able to pull COMPLETLY to the farthest part witout scraping a corner or wall.....

Re: Leaky Quick Connects

Listen old man. I understand your 1960 reasoning. I was alive then, only in grade school.

Things have changed in the world today. Johnson is no longer President.

If I still ran 50' sections of solution line, and if I liked to drag them around over concrete, I'd do it the way you do.

No need for you to be embarrassed. You've only got a few more productive years left. No need to change anything at this late date.

Re: Leaky Quick Connects

Bob, you're allowed to have longer than 50ft sections of solution line you know...

but since I'm bored, I'll play along.

I know you have some jobs that are big and have or had 2 men crews.
so lemmie axkz you,
would you rather the QDs come lose before you head out to fire up the TM
(where you'll see and re-connect BEFORE you fire up)

or would you rather have them come lose in the MIDDLE of cleaning while the wing man is pulling hose out the door???

which do you think loses more production time???

now that I think about it, how often does your set up come apart while rolling up?

saaaaaaaay it!

what ARE talking about Ole Man???
Why would i hate you?

Now, If you're on the wand "sawing" away with your wand technique,(wand keyed) and someone is pulling hose behind you, a QD sure WILL disconect if it hooks a step, door threshold, or a paver, or the other examples you used.

and tried to come up there and see you.
you were too em-bare-assed to have me see that '78 rust bucket church van, 'member??
