Why do some customers lie to us?

How does that solve the problem of getting the piss smell out of the house?

I'm sure this has been talked about on here in the past, I'm just wondering. These people said that they've never had an animal ever, even though the house wreaks of it, and spots are all over. I asked them about that, and they said their brother brought the shit zu over for two days. There's no way a shit zu can piss over 30 times in just 2 days.

So they decided to not get it cleaned (or attempt to clean it themselves without telling me) after I gave them the price. They said it's time to put hardwood down. Whatever!

Because the hurtful part is they don't know us the truth we're a contractor that's coming to do a job and the amount of additional work to be done is only going to make the pricing increase. It's in the customers interest to make sure the price doesn't increase

I had one today that "wasn't too bad". There was dried cat vomit on the stairs, and urine soaked bedroom carpet.
I have a semi regular customer who tells me that she lets the vomit dry cause it's easier to scrape off. That would make a quirky kind of sense, IF SHE ACTUALLY SCRAPED IT OFF.

Meanwhile gravity has pulled it through the pad never to be removed.

A lot of people have had bad experiences when hiring people in life - auto mechanic, plumber, HVAC repair, any one in sales, ect. They figure you are going to lie to them, overcharge them, basically rip them off. They will lie to you to protect themselves. Trust has to be established. When they feel you are there to solve their problem, the lies usually stop.

They didn't see the value of your service for the price they were given and just wanted a quick way of letting you down.

Another lie today

This carpet was rediculously black from kitchen oil. I go over it the first time. It didn't look much better. I re sprayed it and let it dwell while I'm cleaning other parts of the house. When I hwe over it the second time, I see a big squiggly line of lather. He went behind me with his formula resolve, lol. I asked him if he put anything on it, and he denied it. Whatever. After 10 minutes of flooding the carpet to rinse that crap out, I took off.

Where do you find your customers? I have had more than a few who tried to spray more of my prespray, but very few who would think Resolve works better than my stuff.

It may be Old School but I like my paper invoices...I write all over them everything I see and we talk about.
Initial here and sign here...please write that note on this form...initial. Sometimes they can be forgetful so good to have a signed agreement.
