My new winter project is being delivered tomorrow. An Amtex Prowler Pride. 25/33 machine with dual heat exchangers. Complete with waste tank and hose reel for $1000 cdn. That's peanuts in US dollars. Everything runs but needs a little loving. Thinking already of swapping the blower out for a 45. It'll keep me busy for a few months and maybe I'll sell it or keep it and sell one of my other ones.

You stole that. Those Prowlers are about $12k new.. I just don't understand all that water running through the blower. That can't be good for it.

Would love to see a rolling cart, 47 blower, 500 psi pump.
Could use a ramp to take it in or out of a trailer/ van, and use it for 2-300 ft hose runs...

Yeah, I know. I could be out there drinking, gambling and whoring around instead. Hey, why the fook am I wasting my time with these old machines.
Cause the stuff mentioned above, IS a complete waste of time...
Because challenging yourself is much more interesting.

I got a couple of Chemtex machines last winter in a truck purchase. A 2045 and a 2747. Haven't had time to look them over yet, maybe this winter. Taking up space on my TM workbench.

I prefer working on the 405s.

I don't much about the chemtex machines other than they were always on the back page of cleanfax. I think similar to other Texas machines, they used good components but the engineering was a little suspect. I think with a little reworking, they could be reliable machines. Nothing like the 405 though, that seems to be the benchmark for a proper carpet cleaning machine.
