While some of the information is factual, it really builds the case for getting rid of carpet, not cleaning it.

I can see the wife now:

"I've been telling you I wanted to redecorate and get rid of this carpet. Read this information: That stuff is full of disease!"

I don't know it just popped up in my news feed. Thought I'd read it for the hek of it and. Was surprised at how negative it was.

It wouldn't inspire me to call them. More like Jim said it makes carpet sound horrible and should be ripped out not cleaned.

The ad? Yes.
That and similar ads 'like "before you x", "# things you should know before" and "don't do x until you read this" generally have much higher ctr

I viewed the ad as negative to customer perception of carpeted floor coverings.

One thing I sometimes challenge people to think about is the air quality in their home. For years, people with allergies were told to RIP IT OUT!
I tell people about the study by the Indoor Air Quality Institute that says that a home with carpet has better air quality than a home with hard surface flooring.
Call the pros to help your nose, lol.
