Lets say.hes a busy one or two trucker and bokked out with carpet cleaning jobs a week or two.

How does he transition his biz so that he can now all of a sudden drop everything to service the flood emergency calls?

Market like crazy, buy the needed equipment and the extra staff and hope the phone rings?

Lets say.hes a busy one or two trucker and booked out with carpet cleaning jobs a week or two. The key would be to network with others so you don't miss a call. But you can also work a loss into the schedule especially when that job can be $2K or more. Initial extraction is usually an hour or two, then you can get back on your cleaning schedule. . Is it worth all the hassle? How much would you make on the cleaning job for two hours VS how much will you make from the WDR job.

Its tough and is much easier the more trucks you have. However it can still be done with one truck. You'd be surprised at how understanding people are when they know its an emergency you have to take care of. We usually offer a discount to anyone we have to move in the schedule. Most people are good with it as long as it still gets done that day.

Yes market like crazy but its doesn't have to cost you anymore than you are already spending. Just be sure to mention it in all of your advertising. Market your data base first and consistently. They already know you and trust you, you should be the first person they call.

Buy equipment slowly, do a few jobs and reinvest in drying equipment, keeping some for marketing and some for profit. Use that equipment until you feel you need more and slowly build your inventory.

For a while it will be mostly your data base that calls you but as you gain more confidence, employes and equipment that works out fine. Maybe you only want the occasional water loss. Nothing wrong with that! If you do 10-12 a year that could be $25-30K extra a year with very little effort other than a little inconvenience the day it happens.

Can't get to it, just be honest and refer them to someone else. Good luck!

Like this, just keep mentioning it in everything you do. The WDR ad just rode free on this piece. :winky:
