Can somebody reasonably close to.me give me a unit price for after hours subsurface extraction? Im charging hourly because its easier for the amount of jobs Im doing but I would like to make sure I am not too far off. Thanks Doods!

Weight assisted extraction during hours .79 cents sq foot
Weight assisted extraction after hours $1.33 per sq foot

I might be a bit cheaper in my area, but hopefully this gives you a bit of a start for now until someone closer can chime in.

Thanks Mark, that gives me a pretty good baseline. While you're at it, can you give me the regular wand extraction rates too?

Chris are they saving or pulling the carpets afterwards?

If saving it might be worth getting a Rover or Xtreme Xtractor, less wear and tear on your body, make just as much for extraction and do a better job of it. If they are just pulling them then it loses some of the value but it's still a labor saver.

Thank you again Mark! Rich they're pulling most residential pad and carpet, seemingly whether it needs it or not. Was thinking about a Rover for rug extraction also but most of the jobs I get from them are glue down.

Yea, you can do it with a scrub wand and make night and day passes with the Rover. It uses your weight to compress the water out. Glided extraction head makes easy work of it.

Chris you can sign up today with xactimate

I did a year ago and our billing doubled.

You can pay monthly, bi-annual or annual. Cost for version 28 is $2000

I would absolutely do that if we were in the water business. Right now we are just helping restorers with extractions. I'm thinking more and more about getting some of my own equipment but I'm just not quite ready for the commitment until I have someone reliable to help share the load.

Tom, is this a one time fee of 2,000. Or is this 2,000 per year?

When I first started, it was about $380 to purchase the program and then it was $100 per month to have Xactimate on up to 2 computers.

Then something happened on an update, and I had to give up one of the computers and then pay $125 per month to just have it on one computer.

I am on Xatimate 27.3 yet because some of the adjusters (and a couple insurance companies) are still on the older version.

I believe to update to 28 would be a free update for me (and of course still pay the $125 per month). There are other options to buy into that I just wouldn't use yet at this point.

I pay $250 per month for 27.5, most of the adjusters i've been dealing with use the same version as well.

One job will pay for the year's worth of cost of Xactimate.

If you're pulling carpet it's not worth using the water claw, just wand it or use a rotovac on it imo, some insurance companies might give you a hard time justifying $1.30/sqft for water claw afterhours when you're gonna pull the carpet anyways. I would do it if you're gonna save it.
