I get no views on my Yelp listing

Angies list was advertising my area about a year ago but I haven't seen any recently. I should try it.

Yelp is worthless here.

I think web advertising is way over rated.

I refuse to succumb to all this web hype.

It's just the flavor of the day.

I don't know why some cleaners fall for this post?

How many companies can really be listed on the top of Google?

I get calls everyday saying they can get me listed at the top of Google.

What a bunch of crap.

Part of why the web is over rated.

i'm advertising with them now we'll see...I'm skeptical of all advertising...gotta "free" video commercial coming with it as well (free my ass)..i think they're too strick on the testimonials...while I was guilty of having a few family members post that got deleted, they've taken down a legitaimate one because the guy doesn't "yelp" enough I guess :x

I think everyone should be sceptical of advertising.

Especially advertising on the web!

That stuff is a sham.

How does global warming help your business?

If Gore keeps parlaying global warming he could be a multiple Billionaire!

The public is wising up to this scam.

It's the politicians and researchers that have had their pockets lined that keep this myth alive.

Some carpet cleaner use some of the same scare tactics with the dust mite dangers.

Back to the web.

It changes too much to keep up with it.

A good cleaner shouldn't have to advertise anyway.

I'd just stay away.

first job from yelp .
1100 dollar job done yesterday.

does seem like not much traffic , but it didnt cost anything

those that do not see the potential of internet advertising have just not done it correctly. which is just fine for me

Yelp reviews here are not posted on Google.

Google is king, Yep is a want to be.

They both are the web and advertising.

Two things I tell others to stay far away from!!

Dave you know better than that.

Post your site everywhere you can...except for porn etc. lol

It all helps your rating on Google and Yahoo.

Paying for it IS another story but some sites actually work if you pay them...and it's usually not that much.

This post was lacking the usuall remarks from a cleaner chiming in saying that they haven't marketed in 50 years and who needs the internet and marketers.

So I decided to fill in to add some balance.

I've always liked the Chinese proverb:

Doing business without advertising, is like winking at a girl in the dark.

You know what you are doing, but nobody else does.

I love it Shorty!

Not marketing/advertising is a surefire way to stay an owner operator~ if that is your goal you are doing the right thing Dave. For me I will continue to spend 7-8.5% of budget sales on advertising to keep growing. Nothing wrong with either approach.

Marketing is equal or more important than cleaning.

My post was to add balance and mock those guys that say they haven't done any advertising for 50 years.

I love marketing!

By the way Google does post and links directly to yelp reviews on place maps.

I got on to yelp when starting my business a year ago and during research found that Mike P was offering a whooping!! 50% off for yelpers reviews for his sacramento company, then I knew instantly that there had to more to this.

It has literally propelled my business outa here. Five Stars or no stars.

Also helps with search engine rankings.
