Ever since I posted a few weeks ago that we seemed to be slower than normal for this (back to school) time of the year we have been BTTW so I feel somewhat out of the loop on this new offering from Interlink. Is this a completely new rollout or am I out of the loop? I read an infomercial on it today and must say that I am quite impressed with what I read and believe this could be a major "hit" for up sells. For seniors and mothers with kids I would think this would be a much wanted item.

So your thoughts on BactiBarrier and pricing structures.

I would think if a client purchased this they certainly wouldn't do protector but I can see this selling much better than protector.

After some additional reading I see that one must use both products so at $120 per 2 gallons it is quite expensive at our cost. So is it a concentrate or ready to use formula? That will be the deciding factor (for me anyways).

Billy;

Our customers have had success using the Germicdal Cleaners.

Make sure they have registration in your state.

The Microban Germicidal Cleaner dilutes @ 2 oz/gallon.

Just talked to Microban rep yesterday about using it as a wall & ceiling FOAM,

in NE U.S. after Hurricane Sandy.

Doesn't the bactibarrier have a longer residual effect? Coupled with an electrostatic sprayer you get better coverage when applying and the surface you are applying it to gets the product reducing waste and overspray.

It should go a long way and not affect protector sales if you upsell it for doorknobs and phones.

I’m in the beginning stages of starting a new environmental disinfection business. It’s not an add-on to my existing carpet & water damage business, but a nice addition to my company. I got certified as an Environmental Decontamination Specialist last spring in South Carolina at the National Institute of Decontamination Specialists. Disinfection is just one of the procedures \ steps in my new business. I also provide other products like air purification systems, high-end allergy filters and more. I just did a job for a state mental hospital and a few apartments last week and I have a good size job coming up this Wednesday. If you want to know more about what I’m doing you can private message me. amygeorge

I expect the main market to be institutions like universities, schools, cruise ships, hospitals, theme parks and anyplace large numbers of people are in close proximity.

Current users are getting $1.50 to $2.00 per sq. ft. for most situations. Some of the testing has been done over two years now and no sign of reduced protection. It should last for several years.

The cleaner / disinfectant dilutes at 2 ounces to the gallon (1:64). The protectant is ready to use.

It's not EPA certified in all 50 states yet. Most of them, but not all. Goto www.interlinksupply.com and click on the Bactibarrier link to get the latest EPA certification info. It's also not rated by the FDA for food preparation surfaces, so you can put this coating everywhere in a restaurant, except where they chop the tomatoes etc. I hear that the Bactibarrier team is working to get all the states certified with the EPA, get FDA approvals and also get approvals to use in air handling systems. Other than that, there are a ton of other places where this can be applied and a cleaning contractor can make money.

Did you know that this technology was sold to the fabric industry to use on ladies lingerie and diapers?

Also, a major Las Vegas casino just signed a PO to have over $30,000 worth a Bactibarrier done to protect their night clubs and restaurants.

My article has the details.

Thanks.

A technical correction to Robert's post above. Both Bactibarrier products are EPA certified in all 50 states. The EPA is federal and they certify for the entire country. However, each state has to approve the label for use in their state. They approve that the label matches the federal EPA certification and any state laws. Some states are a lot slower than others. I think there are still 8 states that need to certify the label.

I will be talking about ans answering questions on Bactibarrier on PCN Tuesday (tomorrow) night. 9 PM Eastern, 8 PM Central. 7 PM mountain, 6 PM Pacific time zone.

Covering the basics of Bactibarrier and looking at several jobs, how much they pay, how to market, how to price and so forth.
