Anyone have a decent solution to help control the small particulates put into the air during a cycle of tumbling? we have our unit enclosed in a shed that we close up during operation, buthe I find there is too much dust airborne when we open up the shed.

I remember someone talking about hooking up a dust collector to the room. Was it @Joe Appleby?

Yes it was Joey... @Joe Appleby

@The Great Oz has an exhaust fan in there star wheel duster room at D.A. Burns to finish and fluff rugs that need it after cleaning... Ron Olson of Executive Rug Cleaning out of Oklahoma who had his own duster made also uses a dust collector system like for wood working...

Probably a woodworking dust collector would do. Even a pair of them.
Woodworking dust collectors are designed to collect coarse particles, like sawdust. It will probably spew some of the finer dust particles right back out, so you'll want to locate it outside, in some sort of shed or enclosure, because they're pretty loud. Also since you'll be sucking air out of the room you would need to provide a small louver or two in the opposite wall to supply makeup air.

There are also shop dust filtration units, better filtration, the downside would be having to service the filters regularly. They recirculate air, so no need for venting.

Either way, you could perhaps run the filter only for a few minutes just prior to opening the doors to cut down on filter maintenance, I suppose.

We have our's on a timer. The vac makes more noise than the tumbler. When the vac goes off, it alerts the guys the dusting is finished. I believe I posted construction of our tumbler room and vac set up in an earlier post. Do a search.
Good luck!
