Just wanted my friends here to know I'm finally..nearly ready to begin!
Starting from zero. Officially Pruitt Carpet Care.
The good people at the bank Butler Systems uses gave us the thumbs up... a leap of faith for them; so we have ordered our Saigerized Butler! Extended 1 ton GMC with upgraded blower and heat, big waste tank...Saigerized.
I know there are a lot of great machines out there but for me this was what I wanted. Nothing is perfect. Now I better get all the other ducks in a row quickly.
The last year on this board has been me popping off, giving advice based on past history...time to put up or shut up.
Congratulations Bob, that's a real nice system to go with. Lots of heat, lots of suck and lots of good looks. You will be a step ahead of most guys starting out.

I can definitely see why no pump out in the country with septic systems.
When (not if) their septic goes, guess who they will ask to replace it? Regardless of how long ago the cleaning was they will never forget.

Thanks Richard.

Gees .. they allow shit water to seep thru the leach field but wont allow waste water from carpet cleaning. Id say it be ok to pump out screened debris free waste water in a toilet that heads to a septic tank .. its just gonna go in and seep right back out with the rest .. but you cannot full force dump out the tank in the toilet because the rush of water may force the solids up and out to the leach fields and possibly clogg n damage shit.

Keith, everybody likes a big tank, but we also love space in the back for all the toys we love "wasting" our money on. It's a trade off.

For example: The 110 gall + a mid mount fresh water tank, Butler's most space efficient design leaves 4'3" of free space in the back of a GMC regular length. My current Pro-1200 leaves 5'8" (Given a smaller recovery tank and no freshie). That's a lot of valuable real estate to waste. I'm currently struggling with that decision.

You get the Butler quality build and all other perks and less storage. If they put their prowess into an even more space efficient design, they may take all other PTO manufacturers out of business.

It ain't about if it is likely to damage the septic, its about liability. And what an unjustified complaint can do to your business, even if untrue.

In the country nobody cares, just let her rip. In the city, you get a warning, then a ticket.

I hear ya, but I would go with the extended van also(bigger the better, there too).. Not sure how you guys pack all your stuff in a regular length cargo.

Bob, just curious- unless you do water damage, why the 270 gal tank?
Do you think you'll fill the regular 110 Gal size recovery tank, in say the average three job day?

Actually they are 210 waste tank...

Good for where you don't have a place to dump during a day.

Good for large jobs especially large tile and grout jobs...

Or you live in the boonies and cold.... :)

Buy Toms wand first.
Get a 360i before you buy that stupid 10" toy.

Just depends on what the bulk of what you'll be cleaning.
If mostly people like yourself with boat docks and and kid or two, get the 10 and a good wand.
Polyester families, get the 360 and a decent wand
Pristine homes with just a spot here and there, get a great wand and skip the aggitator

Bob, I bought my new Butler a little less than a year ago. Has pretty much what yours has cept I put in the 110 gallon tank and a three-quarter ton. You're going to like it. It's a sweet unit. Matt was my contact and he was great to deal with it. If you have any questions, I have found them very patient with me.

I worked for Sears back in 86 and the whole floor behind the seat was lined with a waste tank about 150 gallon hold which no one ever filled up. Of course the pressure pump was 200psi and no one did tile n grout. They also had 75 gallon fresh tanks over the wheel well with storage shelves on each side. Behind the seat was like a 50-60 gallon vacuum box that housed 2 or 3 vac motors on top. 7.2s I think. Had a lot of room left over. If I remember right - they were Autex electric TMs.
