Hi guys,
I am planning to start carpet cleaning business. I have read a lot of good things about Rotovac 360i but I don't know if I need extractor and/or truckmount to go with it or not. Because I am new so I want to start with basic machines and not too expensive. Does Rotovac 360, Hoss 700 or hydramaster rx20 produce their own heat (heated water) or not?
Thank you

In other words you didn't read a lot...at all...or any.

If you did, you wouldn't ask such a screwed up question.

But to make it clear and be helpful, none of the rotary extractors produce heat.

Hi Zee, I like you answer. I had a feeling but I could not find where it clearly says that they don't produce heat. So I wanted to make sure with experienced people like you.

Just to make it even more clear: rotary extractors don't produce suction either.

No suction. No heat.

They're just wands that need -at least- a half decent portable.

Hmm, I thought they had suction as well. I guess you are right, I didn't do a good reading yet. So attach the rotary with some good extractor that also produces heat.
Thanks.

Hi Obaid,
Grant from Australia operates a 360i and a portable. He can give you excellent advise.

I never tried it with a portable myself, but it should work with a portable that has strong suction. Some of the new ones are quite powerful. For the same reason you'd also want a short hose run. And unless you are willing to connect lots of electrical cords to separate circuits (and the home may have issues supporting all that load,) you'd better ditch the heater.

You would rely more on the agitation part of TACT. You may want to get the brush head. You'd still need a wand to do corners and pick up more moisture.

P.S. Considering the quantity of his posts, Richard can't be ignored- there will be nothing left. Besides, Chavez is a walking (posting) wealth of knowledge, particularly if you learn to ignore his few (and considering his advanced carpet cleaning age- justified) pet peeves. Noobs, portables, selling POS equipment at inflated prices to small islands in the pacific and Mardie.

Obaid, if you are in France, then your equipment operates st 220 volts. You will have plenty of power to operate a portable and use the 360i with good effect.

Look for a model that has automatic fill and pump out, and I suggest you read as many posts as you can, look at as many youtube videos as you can. You will quickly pick up information on the many ways to clean and be able to decide which ways will be of benefit to you.

Good luck!

I've done hundreds of jobs with a portable paired with Hoss and the 360XL.

It works.

You used the 360xl with a portable, no shit?!?

My 360i works with my portable but would think the XL wouldn't perform as well.. I use a 3rd vacuum when I use my portable to help with the suction..

I also use a #2 lg heater and airpaths to speed up the drying.. When I get the XL I'll try it with my portable..

Granted, it was the Dwellpro..... Which many of you can't seem to appreciate enough or believe that it works.

Yes hundreds of jobs with the Dwellpro paired to the 360XL.

Nate, I don't think there is really that much of a difference between the i and XL.

So you have the regular head on the XL? 3" does make a big difference.. Hell, the 2" from my 13" Zipper and 15"ZipperSS makes a big difference.. Plus the weight of the unit..

I did not bother to read all the non-helpful responses I am sure this question generated. Maybe someone actually answered the question.

These are all attachments to a truckmounted or portable extractor. They would accomplish nothing without an extractor. Like getting apps but not having a device to run them on.
