In the first installment I outlined the importance of being able to properly identify the type of hard surface material you will be cleaning. If your read that installment, you know that I stated that it’s absolutely essential to positively identify the flooring material, and determine if there are any pre-existing conditions that will impede the cleaning process, before any cleaning procedure is actually performed.
Identifying the material type will tell you what precautions you need to take to prevent damaging the floor during the cleaning process.
Here, then, is a detailed explanation of the 5 step pre-inspection process that I created to get the hard facts, with an emphasis on why each step is performed, and more importantly what to look for when using the testing procedure.
