For those of you that manage your own sites, or have blogs - google is beginning another change that you will want to check your site for concerning external links. For example if within your site you give a link to the CRI, IICRC, ect. You'll want to make sure any of those types of links are 'no follow' links. Any links on your site that don't point to a link internally to another page on your site, or your blog you'll want to change to no follow.

Google has been very vocal about what to do and what not to do when it comes to links lately. You can expect that this will lead to a lot of people scurrying to have existing links to (and from) their content removed or altered to include rel="nofollow".

If any of these links involve your site(s), it's not out of the realm of possibility that you'll be seeing some PageRank changes come your way in the future.

This week, for example, Google's Matt Cutts released a video discussing widgets and infographics, and advised creators of these things to include rel="nofollow" on links in their embed code. This, of course, means that all of those sites out there using your infographics, pointing to your site, and giving you some (hopefully well-deserved) PageRank, are advised to not give you that PageRank. Not exactly the greatest encouragement for creating infographics, which can be filled with useful content.

Here is the link format for a no-follow link.

Code:
<a href="http://thisIsJustAnExampleLink.com" [B]rel="nofollow"[/B]>Your anchor text here.</a>

Its good to have some no-follow links in your SEO linking profile, but it will be interesting to see how many people are going to comply, and how it will affect things all the way around.
