When did prochem start making a liquid version of powerstrike?

http://www.carpetcleanersupplies.com/pr ... 374-7.html

Masterblend redline is very impressive to me. I have not tried soap free. I see the ph of soap free is 9.9 and contains an oxidizer. They have another rinse called RAGE which has ph of 8.5. Which one would be the better rinse? I wish I would have picked up some samples of soap free at Mikefest.

I am starting to be more cautious of what chemicals I use. When I first started cleaning I used a prespray called kaboom which is stronger than Flex. I decided if I wanted to live past 40 I better switch. I was amazed that Chemspec Traffic Cleaner actually worked, didn't make me caugh, and the smell was bearable. Now for residential cleaning I want to use a safe butyl free product that cleans good and is cost effective. The powder redline is doing a great job. Now I need a rinse.
If I ever need to boost redline which I don't ever see for residential cleaning I can always add some ultrapac or speedball but then I will be adding butyl.

I had to clean a daycare this weekend, so on Friday I went to my local Prochem supplier and bought some of their Axiom prespray. I wanted to use a "green" clemical on it, just in case there was some wacko mother who might decide he kids cold was my fault. I was surprised at how well it cleaned, but that was at the maximum mixture of 2.5 quarts per hydroforce sprayer. It took a whole $38 gallon to clean the job. Can't afford that.

I wonder how green and safe Judson's O2 products are?

They don't make me cough, like most every prespray I have ever used does, and they clean great. I love the orange smell.

But, will Judson's make me grow another head?

I looked at prochems axiom prespray. Anything will clean if you vacuum good and use decent heat. I liked it because the dilution ration was 4-6 oz per gallon and it could be mixed in a pump sprayer if needed. You can't do that with ultrapac. You really only needed about 32 oz in your hf and possibly 16. Always start light and add if needed. By the way if you haven't tried redline you should. I only add 6 oz in my hf (that is what the directions say) so it is very economical, it mixes easy, and there is almost no smell. I have no problems cleaning a nasty carpet with it, but I would also use something stronger if I was using a portable to clean.

As for rinse agents if I was looking for a killer strong emulsifier I would just mix up some powerstrike in my 5 gallon jug and crank the heat up. I really don't need that for residential cleaning though. I am either going to order some soap free or RAGE. I am leaning towards RAGE. I hear soapfree doesn't foam up when you clean with it like other products so it's almost like using water.

I'm not sure when it takes effect, but there's a new regulation that says manufaturers can't hide ingredients behind the "proprietary" dodge anymore. If you want to know what part of that fantastic grease eater will burn your lungs out, check the chemicals against the EPA's Designed for the Environment list.

If your chosen product has DFI or CIRI marks it's probably OK. (http://www.CIRI.org - http://www.epa.gov/dfe)

I'm glad I am not a chemical manufacturer. They all work good. If I hadn't picked up a sample I would never have switched. I moved a chair yesterday and there was hinge grease all in the carpet. Normally I would have to clean it and then apply some citrus gel. Redline took it out with ease. There could be other factors in that as well. Somone recommended grease eater. I don't need a STONG prespray and I really attribute that to my preparation and the Everests heat. All I want is a economical prespray (preferably a powder) that is low ph, butyl free, mixes easy, no obnoxious smell like ultrapac, and works everytime.

Daniel;

There are some powders on the market that meet your requirements.

Butyl-free requires a citrus solvent that also leaves a pleasant fragrance.
Citrus solvents are the safest grease solvents we have.

pH will be ~10 if it has a good oxidizer.

The best ones are even economical.

I remember one time a year or so ago when Mikey said he was going to delete any posts from suppliers that were vague and did not name specific product of theirs in their answers. He had Cobb in mind specifically when he posted that.

To answer your original question.... it comes down to what residue is left behind. Soap free is designed to leave absolutly no residue. Thus when you rinse there is no need for a further neutralization.

RAGE is an entirely different animal. It was designed for the Casino Industry in Las Vegas because of the large amount of wool axeminster these places have. Cleaners wanted a product that was safe for wool but aggressive enough to remove the grease and heavy soils usually found in these places. Thus RAGE was born... "REALLY AGGRESSIVE GRANULAR EMULSIFIER." And its woolsafe approved. While I've seen this product work decently on synthetics, there were products that worked better. Now if you need to clean a wool wall to wall that is simply filthy, this works great for that circumstance.

Martin, why not charge more for green cleaning? When I get a customer that wants more I wants more too!

Is Redline a green cleaner?

I don't thinks so but it doesn't have a strong smell or any butyl, it is economical at 6 oz in my hf with yellow tip, and it has a ph of 10. I have used a lot of presprays and I really like this one. I wouldn't use it as a primary prespray for apartments but for residential it is great. Sure ultrapac is also good but is not as economical and has a strong smell. I have been using all fiber rinse or a light mixture of slurry. I have some axiom powder and plan on switching to it. The axiom cleans just as good and is butyl free. If I ever run into a rat nasty I can always boost the redline (not that I will need to anyway) with some speedball which is a butyl power cleaner, add some ultrapac, or scrub with a 175.

When Axiom was brought out somewhere back around 05 they had a big talk about it at Connections. When they were all done their bragging, I approached the chemist, Joe I think, and asked him what the down side was. He simply said they don't clean as well.

Anyone remember Ramsey's Premulsion? Neutral pH but it choked you. Caught in the throat.

I thought Borax was pretty safe. What are the dangers associated with it?

Daniel,
Vacaway has a newer product out called dirt assassin green. I haven't tried it yet but If it's half as good as encap green you'll love it.

Power Break. An economical powder with 100% active ingredients so you don't need to use much, just 2 ounces of powder per gallon.
