I discovered ...by accident...the best nicotine remover to date...Krud Kutter

years ago we ran across the worst ever nicotine house I've sever seen.
we've seen a couple that came close since then, but that one is still the granddaddy of them all.

the first thing we used was a d'limonene pre-spray by DSC called Krush.
A very good d'limo pre-spray BTW.
I mixed it at max and half dilution rate, nuked it and roto scrubbed.
There was a major improvement.
Next I tried Ultrapac at 8oz pr gal and roto scrubed
It was about the same as Krush

then I grabbed the Krud Kutter that we used for general cleaning
(I had never tried it for carpets at that time)
I mixed it at 6 to 1 ratio ...it flat out blew away the butyl (Ultrapac) and D'lime (Krush)
Cost RTU was about the same as the others.

That will remove the nicotine stains, but the odor is a whole 'nother can of worms that needs to be addressed as a whole...walls/ceilings, doors, moldings, cabinets, HVAC system , etc.
and even if you get all the nicotine stain out of the carpet, you'll still have odor from it in the severe cases.
so don't promise to remove the odor...you can only "improve" it.
Unsmoke makes some good products for that...and I love the smell of Unsmoke Tobbattack.

When I'm running low on Alqua Velva, I splash a little Tobbattack on me
the chics dig-it...

Whats the PH of that stuff Larry? and what kind of carpet was it you used it on? would you have used it on the furniture?
