Orifice is clogged on my Boxxer and I ran out of descaler. Need to descale with something as I don't have time to get to disty. What can I safely use to get me by? Or am i ACED?

Dirk;

You can use a good Rust Remover if you have enough (2 quarts).

Also can use some pool acid @ 33% strength.

Circulate for about 30 min, rinse with fresh water, and clean out filters.

i have no local distributor but have gone to hotsy pressure washing for descaler they call it coil conditioner. in Lincoln 5960 Cornhusker Highway, Lincoln, NE 68507.
since I began renting a resin tank from a local water softener company I do not have to descale as often. For 20 bucks a month they supply me with a charged tank. When I need a new one I just drop by their office and get a pre charged one ready to go . Garden hose fittings make switching the tanks fairly easy ,the tank takes up less than 1 square foot of floor space in my van..

Hey Larry, what about your acid grout cleaner? I used some at 1:4 last time we needed a descale and it worked great but I'm not looking to damage stuff.

This is funny shit. Mike- Do you limit bottle sizes in your van to 8 oz. so you can't harm yourself. I use toilet bowl cleaner to delime my machine and have never hurt myself.

Mike;

A couple of points :

1. I used the original Erusticator for years with no problems (other than indicator dyes).

2. Our Dynachem Rust Remover uses a mixture of an acid and a fluoride salt
(less reactive than hydrofluoric acid, but still effective)

Thanks for your concern.

Larry

P.S. Glad it worked out for you, Dirk.
