I'm waiting to see if Harry has cleaned any Banananana silk

That carpet in the first photo looks like it would brown out with just water and any sort of VLM would just totally destroy it.

That big job we did last week is putting in 5000 feet of crazy stuff like those that they want us to maintain...

just shoot me.

It's illegal to label and sell any fiber with a false content label. Unlikely the feds would go after the designer, but they've fined retailers millions for this already.

"Banana silk" is just rayon, and I suspect "Nucashmere" is too, since STG tried to register the fiber name and then abandoned the trademark attempt.

The label on the woven stuff says Sunbrella, so if accurate at least that one would be durable and easily cleanable.

We had a problem with browning when cleaning this fiber even though we used browning treatment and cleaned on the Acid side. Its now on our Do Not Clean lists.

banana silk is Rayon

Banana is crap so is eco silk! Its not durable and doesn't clean well at all. A dealer around here has replaced 5 of these in the last year.
The last was eco silk 13x25 with really bad sprouting/ shedding problems the dealer tells me he's going to have another woven for the owner
:eekk: the issue is inherent with the materials not some one off issue.
