I'm sure a lot of you are getting email on a daily basis from all kinds of associations and industry related programs etcetera.

Who signs us up to be emailed all this stuff? Is Connections/Experience sells out our email addresses? I sure as hell don't sign up anywhere to receive email. So how do all these places get us signed up on their own?

Weasel words on the forms when you give someone your address.

I've unsubscribed useful site that didn't respect me be either "partnering" with another entity, or sending daily emails under several identities.

Yes the experience gives your information to the sponsors as do all trade shows. It is in the fine print. Part of why people pay big bucks for a table at trade shows.

If the experience does this it is certainly not just them. It isn't hard to get carpet cleaner mailing list.

Just a note...we don't give out any info. All mailings by advertisers or others are done through us.

Clarifying: what gets me is when I know, I went to the unsubscribe page on constant contact after receiving an email from whoever and they still email weeks months later. No matter how many times you unsubscribe.

Fred is right, you can get that information anywhere.

Over long term its not a great idea unless people opt in. If your email gets flagged as spam it can screw up everything.

Fred I in no way said "only the experience" I said ALL trade shows which encompasses everything from carpet cleaning to Porn. If you register the vendors get your info.
