For those of you who clean T&G how do you charge for a tiled room with furniture in it? Do you charge more to move items or do you tell the customer if they want an living room that's tiled they have to roll up the area rug and move furniture out- for example? Or do you skip those rooms? If you charge more do you charge a percentage of the job or a set amount based on what you move.

And then the question comes up, if you move the furniture do you just move everything to one side, clean and then wait for it to dry, then move it all back to the other side to repeat the process?

Charge more or tell them to move the furniture prior to the work.

Do you charge more to move items
Always

or do you tell the customer if they want an living room that's tiled they have to roll up the area rug and move furniture out
95-99% of the time yes.

Or do you skip those rooms?
If they can't move all the items, than you just clean to where ever you can reach, you're not going to move a 500 lbs piece of equipment to clean that one square inch.

If you charge more do you charge a percentage of the job or a set amount based on what you move.
Charge more, no percentage, you're charging for your time, regardless if it's one item or 10.

And then the question comes up, if you move the furniture do you just move everything to one side, clean and then wait for it to dry, then move it all back to the other side to repeat the process?
Depends on how heavy the furniture is and or if you have room/or not to leave the furniture in. If you need to come back the next day it'll be a half day's work charge min. 99% of the time the tile is dry within 5 mins max if you're not sealing it. If sealing than you want the area/furniture to not touch the grout lines, this will also take more work.

I keep it simple, please move all the furniture that you're able to. If you can't move large heavy pieces we will do our best to clean under if we can reach. Haven't had much of an issue if explained that way.

I move everything within reason out of the room.

Put down air movers. By the time I have packed the van packed up the floor is dry, ready to seal.

Most of the time in the long run it is just easier to get everything out of your way.
