If you did not notice and noted (prior to cleaning) preexisting damage to grout:

  1. Do you re-grout?
  2. If they do not know the exact grout that was used, some installers mix color to order, how do you match grout colors?
  3. Do you carry some grout mixes with you at all times? Which ones?

What if the installation was not good and as a result some grout damage become visible only after your cleaning, do you still re-grout?

Other advise?

you can mix it to match, or a lot of grout has the same color names alablaster, bright white, antique white, etc so sometimes you can just match it that way

otherwise if its a really small area damaged you can repair the grout and color seal it I guess

We stock 14 grouts on each truck. Mostly unsanded since we do mostly stone.

When you everything you need and it’s minor, it’s faster to repair it then give the whole speal. And let them know at the end you gave em a freebie

If it’s something more, substantial, that something you should see as your cleaning it (if you missed at pre inspection) and point,it out immediately.

In order to do,a proper regroup 2/3 of the depth has to be removed....you don’t want to get onto that

The problem with standard grout is, depending on the mass, or thickness, and how well it’s hydrated during cure, it will dry different colors.

There 3 different types of grout.. sanded, unsanded, and the new pro,or prism grouts.

Basically you need right type for right repair. Not,going to,get sanded grout in a hairline repair...need unsanded.

If you do mostly CPT, then go get some prism in basic colors, divide into zip lock bags (once it’s subject to humidity the clock starts where it will go bad, but look fine)

Prism will do unsanded and sanded. Cure even color. Cures fast
