Ok I got my certificate for stone pro boot camp. Spent a boatload of cash on crap and finally did some marble.

220 sq ft $660 5 hours I need to speed up

We used a 400 grit diamond disks on a 40lb driver, switched to a 800 grit then used EMP

Rinsed with stone pro deep clean

Sealed with cobbs ultra seal.

When I gave this bid she needed some grout repair so I referred her to a competitor, he never called her back so I got the job.

220 square feet in 5 hours is not that bad, but I would expect to be able to do 3-4 steps of resin diamonds, plus polish in that time. Depending on the layout of what I am doing, I can do about 300-400 feet a day, 220-1800 and polish + cleanup without a helper. That's without moving much, obviously. Not that I'm special, but once you get a system going, you will see your production increase. It just takes a little time to get settle in and comfortable with a routine. It's better to take it slow in the beginning and make sure it's done well. hallways, kitchens and furnished rooms will always take more time than wide open areas.

I learned that polished marble should start at 220g and up to 1800g-3500g then polished. Ted McFadden showed me that the lower diamond honing is critical and you can somewhat slide on the high diamonds (since they are lighter) and polish, cutting down on time, Ted and Cameron could probably explain it better than me though :)

Ya I agree a 220'first would of really got the deeper scratches out. In the class for stone pro they did a floor complete 400 -800- polish.

I went ahead and used the 1800-3500 on the half and it was considerably better with each grit we hit it with.

Right now I have 400-3500 I need to buy 6 of the 220 I have the old 40lb driver plate what a pita.

Can you ever find a floor with no scratches?

If you charge by the grit they may choose to leave some out if you are able to explain the whole process well.

I'd hate to see Miller with a Draft in him... "Me make floor shiny for $900 if you leave me good Yelps"

I don't do much marble here, we have lots and lots of travertine in my area. But here are some pics in a large MBR marble that I diamond honed and polished in 4 hours a while back.
220- 6 passes
400-8 passes
800-4 passes
1600-2 passes
3500-1 pass
Polish
