I have been told two differents ways from two different reps at Hydramaster how to shut down a CDS. One says release the brake and let the unit run at a slower speed then turn off the key. The other says unhook vacuum and let run full speed for min or two and then shut down. How do you CDS users shut your units down? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What does your manual say? Hydramaster puts out a good manual with a lot of info in it. If you can;t find it in the manual call HM tech dept. super guys that are always helpful.

Unplug vacuum, turn off solution and turn off heat, let run for a minute or two to force out any humitidy in the vacuum system, then plug vac port and lube using the lube port. 10 seconds of lube approx, then let it run for about 30 seconds to a minute and shut it down. Using the key... never ever take off the parking break until the unit is shut down.

There's a safety switch on the parking brake that won't allow the unit to run of the brake isn't set, but it isn't intended to be used as the shut-down switch. When you turn the unit off the engine will idle down exactly the same way.

Not sure about the recommendation to let the unit rev. I might ask the rep why they made that recommendation.

We've always just shut the unit off with the ON/OFF key on the control panel. Lube the blower after the last job of the day. Lots of years, lots of CDS' no problems due to the shut down procedure.
