Part of the job today was a shower floor with efflorescence (calcium) on the shower floor. Tried my regular acid cleaner, scrubbed, turbo. Even used a wire brush. For the hell of it I tried straight clr and still nothing.

What else would you have tried?.

check to see if the deposits are under a sealer. slate is sometimes sealed with a topical poly so you might have to strip then get at the calcium deposit. test in a corner where the sealer is the thickest.

Albert.. you sure it was efflorescence and not latex migration? Otherwise, what acid cleaner did you use.. I've heard MBstone's works miracles and gets you laid, I've never been let down by stonetech's restore if in fact it was effloresence. Try hitting it with a strong solvent like a pog in an area. If that cuts it, its probably latex instead.

Chemspec DFC 23 or DFC CLR.
Its all natural food based and works with some dwell and agitation. Safe to use around pools with chlorine too.
