It is an Indian rug. It probably is silk . Wool with silk flowers . Do not use a rotary on this rug. Groom it in the smooth direction with a grooming brush.

The rug really doesn't have any collectors value and isn't considered antique as of yet. I'd agree with Harry on the Indian Hand knot with atleast some silk flowers like you mentioned.

For the estimated insurance value of the rug, it really needs to be appraised by someone in your local area. Markets differ by region with rugs that are not considered collectors or in fashion by designers. Even Replacement cost approximations can vary quite a bit.

Indo crap wool w/silk or silk cotton blend. $30-50 sq ft insurable value depending on market etc. For true appraisal will need to be taken to dealer or independant rug appraisor, no one will do one via picture.
