by giving away say jon don spotters would you take on any liability? do you need insurance to cover any liabiltiy?

If you give away or sell a custom label program spotter such as Jon Don's spot out, then Jon Don's liability should cover it. You are basically purchasing advertisement on their product. However, if you either home make your own spotters to give out, OR, you sell/give out proffessional strength spotters, that were not intended for residential use, then the blame would probably fall up you, should any problem occur.
