My father in law is getting this done in a few weeks to his knees that have wore out all cartilage and has bone on bone pain. I'll get a better description of it soon, but the process is an injection into the area where stem cells grow and make more cartilage. He's hoping this will substitute knee replacement surgery and the price is more than half of what new knees would cost. If it's successful, he's told it'll last 6-8 years before he needs another injection. During the injection treatments, he's also told to drink 8quarts of water a day!!!
He knows someone who had this injection in their shoulder with rotator cuff wear and he had more success than what's predicted in this knee treatment.
Is anyone else familiar with this new procedure?
