I've always wondered, do you pre-spray with dry clean solution and also run it as the rinse, like in a portable?

You would need a special Dry Cleaning Extractor like the U.S. Products Ultimate Cleaner.

Actual dry cleaning of upholstery is not very common these days.... as other low moisture system clean better. Lots of safety concerns when using dry solvents, risk of explosion..need for ventilation.

Nope. You use it as a spray. PB Ultimate or Kleenrite make solvent safe machines or you can towel off. Usually doesn't work worth shit.

The results are not worth the effort using a "drycleaning" machine.

You can achieve similar results by vacuuming thoroughly then spraying OMS and terry toweling. Back in the day we used both the Ultimate & a Kleerite drycleaning machine and the results never compared to wet cleaning.
