My problem was stripper splashing up on the baseboard from the 175. Then when u went to wipe it off it took the paint.

I apply stripper with a doodle pad and pole scrub all the edges...stay a machine width from baseboard...I keep heavy steel wool.and several scrapers and brass scrub brushes..maybe even some cans of baseboard stripper

Gotta make sure your strip pad is centered. Helps with splash. And when I see painted baseboard I let them know it could be scuffed a bit. Don't rely on masking tape. Stripper will still soak through it if your sloppy. If you have a a helper I've used a flat Sheetrock knockdown tool to protect the edges as you go.

Find some border edging from Home Depot, attach it to your 175 so that it acts as a splash guard.
