Charge more per area on "Cleanable" or "open areas"
Or just charge less for the non-traffic areas being cleaned.

Wall to wall, chances are those areas under the furniture are not that bad anyway....I said "chances" not "for sure".

I think he means what is the difference. How much space does the furniture take up. Maybe 50% in most homes.

I don't move big furniture or electronics, so I charge the same. It takes just as long to clean around the stuff (or longer) as it does to clean the whole room.

Good post.

I think almost anyone here would rather do an empty than a furnished house.

help a dummy out, Frank..

clarify what you mean by "spread"

..L.T.A.

Sorry, I was pondering the old "price per room" vs "square footage" question.
Regarding pricing by the SF, I was looking over some old GoldMine stuff and noticed a lot of guys would post what they charge per SF, but would fail to specify if it they were charging by "Cleanable Area", or "Wall to Wall". Now I understand that if you choose to price by the "cleanable "Area", that due to the fact that there is less total square footage, your price per SF has to be higher.
I am wondering how much higher your "Cleanable Area" price should be on average, compared to your "Wall to Wall" price per SF.
I meant "spread" as in football spread, basically the difference between the two.

"If Joe Blow cleaner was to charge Ms. Piff between ?? cents and ?? cents per square foot wall to wall, he would most likely charge her between ?? cents and ?? cents cleanable area".

Thanks

Really and entire room is exactly the same (maybe a little more) at the end of the day unless there is moving of furniture.

So the sqft spread per will vary because of that.

with wall to wall pricing less confusing for everyone

You see one at 60cents and the other at 40 its pretty close
go thru your house and see
