Custy had a coffee table that has never moved in ten years.

Moved table today and had a light brown spot almost whole shape of table. Also spots were worse where front two legs sat but almost nothing where back two legs sat.

Room is front sitting area. 3 front windows in front of room. Didn't test the carpet. Just a cut pile. Dark Beige. Synthetic. Probably a nylon/poly blend.

She had a sample of new carpet from when they laid it. The whole exposed area seemed extremely faded uniformly. No direct faded spots or anything. House is immaculate.

Repeat customer every year very lightly soiled with few basic spots. Very good custy..

Would like to find some info for her.

Thanks dudes and dudettes.

are the leg spots darker than the rest of the carpet ??

if so...

two thoughts..

it's faded everywhere except where covered.
or when she removed the tabs and and put the leg on the damp spot.

carpet doesn't dry well under the tab/block.
All the carpet will be dry the next morning, but still damp under the tab

It's a good idea to tab/block pieces a couple inches or so from their original spot...and let Mrs Phiff know why
That way when she removes the tab, she'll be putting it in the correct position on dry carpet

She has never had that room cleaned. 2 front leg spots closest to window under table are darker than legs farther from window. But right in front of couch behind table is blocked by sun isn't it? But it sames color as rest of carpet in front of window.

The part under the couch would have seen the least light over time. See how long the couch has been where it is, and check under it. Maybe it will give you another clue.

Simple sunlight or air pollution can cause uniform fading on nylon carpet. If they are the culprit any furniture can potentially change the fading.

Under the couch is fine.

Under other tables/chairs is fine.

It's very faded if that is the case..
