Where did the content go?

I’m not seeing allot of value in the supporting member thing here lately. The only SM rooms that are really active are the bird room and hanging Chad. Why not do some new hot seat interviews or encourage the restoration, marketing, Tile and repair moderators to get their rooms a little more active.

Honestly I think there has been so much talk about "other places" that many are going there to see what all the fuss is about.

Also, unless someone tells someone about this board I don't think they can find it. Do a search for "carpet cleaning message boards" or "carpet cleaning forums" and you will not find this place, but you will find all the others. Whoever put this board together forgot about people trying to locate it.

Yes, the fixation we seem to have on other bulletin boards would, imho, be more of a negative draw than anything else. To be fair, though, the other board seems just as fixated on us as we are them.

I guess we're all drama queens.

The main problem is (and I'm guilty of this myself, that most of us start posts about any thing other than politics and dick jokes in the Clean Room.


It's the Clean Room Mods who need to be more adamant about moving threads to their proper rooms. it certainly makes research and searches much easier if the subject is narrowed down to one room.

I just did the searches again, and yes if I searched for "carpet cleaning bulletin board" Mikeys came up second...

Keywords are funny things I guess, and different people search for different things. I initially searched for "carpet cleaning message board" and found no Mikey

I did several searches, and Mikey's board comes up in most, sometimes near the top, sometimes further down. The page that I saw most was the "Welcome Friends" page. The first paragraph reads:

"The purpose of this carpet cleaning community bulletin board is, first and foremost, knowledge.
The insights, lessons and skills that can be learned from a Board with no hidden agendas can and will be tremendous."

Now I'm definitely not savvy when it comes to search engine stuff, but what if that paragraph were to say something like:

Carpet cleaning forum - bulletin board - message board - call it what you will, we are a group of professional carpet cleaners whose purpose first and foremost is knowledge.
The insights, lessons and skills that can be learned from a Board with no hidden agendas can and will be tremendous.

Maybe the SEO guys could comment on what effect, if any, the additional key words would have.
