Why is my Boxxer's solution outlet clogging so quickly?

This is a pic of the solution line outlet on my Boxxer 421. It's getting clogged after running just one 5 gallon jug of stock solution (liquid slurry). It nearly completely clogs if I use a crystallizing rinse. More info...

1. I just recharged my water softener.
2. My machine just started doing this recently.
3. Kirks Boxxer has no problems even when using chems from the same jug.
4. 10 ounces of liquid slurry were in the jug. Metered at 3.

WTF is going on? The only thing I can think of is air getting into the system.

Are you sure your softener is working as it should? I had mine in the truck for a year before I realized that there was basically no resin in it....

Thanks Curt, I never thought of that. GFY, there isn't any buildup if I just run a water rinse.

I would try descaling. Get it all clean inside and see how soon it happens again.

Is you chemical meter working correctly? Can it meter way too high?

wow, you guys must have rock solid water.

Just from what I see of water spots in the front of the machine.

I'd completely descale the unit.

Did it start after you recharged the softener? The water softener may not have been working but now it is. The soft water is breaking down all the hard water deposits in your system and its clogging it up. I would descale the whole thing really well and start over.

I don't know about the clog...but I do know that you should wipe down your machine....that is what your customers see. Believe me....they will notice everything and make a mental note.

how often does a client go out and look at your machine?

Hardly ever for me.. Or should I say nearly never.

Dude, it's not your current mix dilution that is for sure....unless you sucked through 5 gal in 15 mins?

Sounds like your "system" is cleaning it's self out now.

So the question I have is what were you running for the last 2 years through it, and when did you make a chemistry change?

Time for some DI water...lol

Seriously...is your softener even working?

We have some ferociously hard water in my village and I don't run a softener. I haven't had any problems and don't see any build up at all.

Is hard water really that big of a problem?

Dan, go buy one.

You'll use less juice, and the carpets will clean a little better and be softer when dry.

I did a country home last week that had such hard water, it overwelmed my softener. I had white residue at the fittings of the QD's. After next job, it cleared up.
