Idiot™
Mine usually involve a wrench or screwdriver.
I have two titanium wands. The jet check valves in one of my ti's went out in a couple of jets, so I ordered a replacement set and just put the wand aside until they came in. Before the check valves went bad, the wand was working perfectly.
The new check valves came in today, so I replaced the two that were bad and hooked the wand up to the V to check for drips and could not get any water to come out of the jets. So, I pulled the quick connect off and noticed the male had the tab sitting cockeyed, so I figured the washer was bad and replace the male. Nope ... still no water. So, I decided it must be the wand valve. I had a replacement set, so I took the old valve out and was about to put it back in when I remembered GreenBean telling me one time that you should put the new stem in from the top, not the bottom. So I took the valve off the wand, took the handle off and lubed the port and stem and pushed it in, all the while being careful to turn the valve in an effort to keep the gaskets from breaking. Put everything back together and ... still no water!
So, I called Joe Bristor to order another valve and replacement kit figuring the valve was bad. Joe told me to take the stem out again, check the gaskets for tears or hanging chads and put it back in, but this time DON'T put it in from the top. Joe said to put it in from the bottom. I took the stem out and sure enough the rubber on one of the gaskets was torn a bit. I carefully took the torn part off and reinserted the stem, this time from the bottom. I noticed the stem went in much smoother this way. I hooked everything up and THEN I HAD WATER!
Why is everything always so hard?
And screw you Greenie.
