A client has just forwarded me this photo. THey are out of town. ANy suggestions?

Wax pull up? Likely scored too deep to 'rub out'?

I have some wax restore, but I'm afaid taht the colour will be different where the score marks are... that is, if it is a waxed finished leather.

The only bit of info they said is it's NOT bicast leather.

Rub some brown pigment in, then the wax restore, heat it up, massage, collect.

It appears that this is aniline dyed leather with a gloss topcoat.

And only the topcoat is scratch off clean.

To rectify the topcoat damages is simply restoring back the original.

Matching dyes is more tedious and “not” necessary – as aniline topcoat will act as a color enhancer that will correct the color.

I would use a gloss “anilineTopcoat” and see if the sheen matches, otherwise use “High Gloss” or “Satin”.

Use the closest matching topcoat and apply with a painting brush over the scratch, blow dry > 1500 sanding grit to build up until satisfactory line by line.

Thereafter the entire section is airbrushed or padded.

For better result on a smooth surface it is easier to pad it.

Note:
Don’t forget to Prep Clean prior to re-topcoat the entire section:
prepClean7.7 > clean3.8 > rinse3.0.

Thanks for your replies.

I sent an email back to her with some indicative costs and all of a sudden, her great urgency seemed to disappear.

I also told her that I'm passing nearby her Wednesday next week if she would like an onsite assessment/firmer quote/job done.

If it is Aniline topcoated, I'm up the creek without a paddle as I don't have that in my toolbox.

---------------

It is urethane "Aniline Topcoated".

An Aniline Wax Pull-up Leather will "NOT" produce such clean sharp edges!
