overheating, f'd up vid card, I can think of a few more but ....I'm trying to figure out if its a setting issue....

have you restarted the browser, tried another, restarted the PC

go to internet options delete history if it was fine before maybe use a system restore

Shut it down last night, and this morning it's fine... The wife fixed the black background, she said she just un-clicked something.
