With that engine you should get as much heat as you want. Should be a very strong slide in good pump and good suck.

Ive had a couple phone calls and did some emailing back and fourth with larry lately as Im in the market for a new tm. Based on how he explains it , he says that they also route the blwer exhaust through the hx which keeps the hx from getting much hotter than about 230. I dont really understand it but thats what he says. I dont know if there is some sort of emergency bleeding system, If I get one I would probly pay to have put on and set it to around 270 just in case a tech decided to answer a phone call and sat the wand down on full throttle. I gotta say a big reason I have looked at this tm is the waste and fresh set up looks realy space saving

Its not rocket science to mix powder chemicals that you have sold for years. Il risk 119 bucks for a bucket of pre-spray. No way am I going to send them boyz 20 g's to build a TM.

10 flow at 500psi=3.5 gpm
50%. Duty
1.75 gal per min

Cobb. 235 at 2 gpm 50 duty
= 235 at 1 gpm
Assume 60 degree start

235-60= 175 rise at 1 gpm
=100 degree rise at 1.75 gpm
=60 degree water plus 100 rise = 160

Answer, 160 degree, at 10 flow, 500psi, 50% duty

Close to Cobb......230 degree at 1 gpm

As comparison , little giant 2,
90 degree at 1 gpm

16 grand. It was a gamble. But it paid off. Still my main machine. I can fix most of the stuff myself. My second TM is a Boxer runs real good. But if I have problems with it I be clueless.

We have worked hard to completely avoid "dumping hot water", and using exhaust diverters.

Our HX uses both engine exhaust & blower exhaust to heat solution water.

Blower exhaust is ~230° F , so it aids the heat rise, only up to that temp.

Above that temp, the higher CFM of the blower moderates the heat rise.

Our 46" long HX also holds more water than typical, for this industry.

Our standard 14" wand runs #8 jet total @ ~230°F,

so the #10 flow (25% more) should be right @ 200° F.

Fox used that system, likewise the 3rd blower core on the Everest is used for moderating (cooling mainly) water temperature.

200 ain't too shabby for a single wand. I would have to experiment with 8 flow though....been a long time.


pretty amazing that my Vortex can keep TWO 10 flow wands at well over 200º each.

Yes . . .

Some of our restoration contractors opt for the 175 gallon recovery tank.

That's a decent sized waste tank, I'd upgrade to that size if it were an option.

The Kohler 38 HP engine . . .

easily powers the #5MR Sutorbilt blower.

It has more available HP,

than the PTO's with typical clutch drives.

Unfortunately for PTO owners . . .

20 HP thru an AC clutch is NOT enough.
