Found this while looking for box vans. New Chevy van coming Fall 2014. Might be nice for those small TM or electric TM users.

Checked out the new Ram Promaster today, not quite as ugly as earlier Dodge vans. Very roomy inside. (Fiat).

its a rebadged nissan nv200

That's what I thought, I'm looking about and that was on my POG hauler shortlist, but withe Nissan 200 tag. I'm pretty well leaning towards the ford transit, but I can keep an open mind.

New full size Ford and Dodge are pretty ugly IMO, Sprinter is the best looking of the bunch, but pricey.

S-p-r-i-n-t-e-r? :eekk:

Tall, thin, with a tapered nose.

Best looking? I guess I just haven't grown to appreciate the sleek sophisticate anteater design yet.

Look at the new Dodge it is Ugly in lighter colors big ass bumper but you can smuggle a lot of illegals across in it.

But only until 12 31 when it becomes legal here. :headbang:

I havent seen any plans to discontinue the express yet but it seems when they do the Vauxhall/Opel full size van will replace it, which looks like a nice platform.

Which PTO builder will install in this FWD van ??

Slide-ins will RULE

Larry

Christ Larry your about as reliable as a timex... Anyway whos to say a driveshaft couldnt be operated by some sort of differential that would transfer power 90 degrees? I seriously doubt all those direct drive manufacturers are just going to wither up and die? what about all wheel drive cars that have transverse engines?

I'm sure Butler and others already have this figured out.

I'd lean toward a well-engineered hydraulic drive that could be coupled with most configurations.

Yes, I'm aware of the Prochem efforts. They didn't do enough homework outside our industry.

I plan on remembering all of Larry's comments when these vans come on the market ... and some sort of van powered unit is developed.

I will put him in the PadPrick category when that happens.

I put him there the first time he mentioned it. Then his obsession with it just solidified the decision.

Show me ONE FWD van

with a clutch-drive PTO.

Anybody ?

It can be done, but the economies of scale aren't there.

Ford already has the Transit,

Chrysler has the Fiat (ProMaster),

possibly GM with the Vauxhall,

and the Sprinter by whoever.

None of these will have the numbers to warrant a totally new design.

This is a subject that I'm sure many Direct Drive guys are interested in.

Larry, you did mention. I believe , that Ford would no longer allow PTO systems be installed in their vans. Is it due to cutting through the Fire wall?

I suppose I could call Butler and see what they have to say on this matter, but don't want to bother them if its just here say and speculation.

What about Nissan? Will SS, Butler, Cleanco HydraMaster install in their vans?

I couldn't help but notice that 1200 looked to have plenty of room for the hoses to come out the door.

On THAT van .....
