Best CRB

Is there a CRB machine (most durable, performance, functionality) that is clearly better than the others?

Strong sucks... Brush Pro is a great machine available in 10, 17 and 20 inches. Excellent supply also has a great machine that comes in 15 and 20 inches.

Some of them (do all?) come with trays that allows them to pick the sand and debris etc.

Do these work well?

Therefore, can it double as a vacuum cleaner and as a pre-spray agitator?

No not all do. If you're going to buy one get one with the trays.

For some it can be used as a vacuum cleaner but Ofer I don't believe you would be satisfied using it in place of a vacuum.

Just to qualify: I am definitely not the Wernering type. If it does a decnt job vacuuming and picking up hair and debris + pile lifting + agitation, I'd be delighted.
It is just that the trays look more like they'll pick up big stuff, but not sand etc. No bag, so it seems to me like the dust etc, does not have anywhere to go into and stay.

Not sure if I'm right or not about that.

I'm not insinuating you're picky...even though I believe you may be.

I had a power lifter years ago and I found it to be pretty much useless.
If I am buying a CRB, I'd definitely expect it to do more than decent vacuuming. Otherwise, just as a tool for agitation it will not be worth it for me. Regardless of the fact that it will never find its way out of the van

There is no (vacuum) with a CRB. It will kick some of the loosened soil into the trays if they are attached.
It's great for agitating pre-sprays and encapsulation.

Its much much better than a pile lifter for both preconditioning and restoring texture but its no vacuum.

I'd take Ray up on his offer and try it out.

We use the Brush Pro on a Library as a stand alone system for maintenance cleaning and it does a great job. It is also excellent as a preconditioning tool BUT....... we still use a vacuum. So if you're trying to use it as a replacement for a vacuum I don't think it will do what you want.

Ray is great, first class all the way. And thank you for the offer Ray.

One of the advantages here is that sometime you can learn from other people experiences. If the CRB does not vacuum well enough, for me, at this time it won't do. Not enough real estate (space in the van) to invest in just a scrubber. Even if it does encap.

The Clean Machine

I have a 175, wands and the zipper. No rotaries. Seem too slow, heavy and most of the time I don't feel like they're necessary.
The 175 (heavy too) hardly ever finds its way out of the van. I agitate with a brush.

Most of the time smart use of TACT will do the work, if one gives it a chance.

The Brush Pro 20 would replace your 175.

Everything that is done with a 175 floor machine would be done better and faster with a Brush Pro.
Carpet mills are recommending Counter Rotating Brush machines for maintenance.
Agitation is with 2 cylindrical brushes at 360 rpms.
They loosen soil much better on carpet and tile and grout.
It's only 46 lbs. vs 100+ lbs.

It does not strip VCT floors or polish natural stone.

Job I did today with Brush Pro 17. Carpet was pre-vacuumed by customer and looked fair but I wanted the pre scrub. I did not plan on pulling a dog, cat and rat from this carpet and needles to say I did not have the collectors on.

I bought the BrushEncap machine from Excellent Supply about a year or so ago. Was $2,200.00 at the time. Great machine. Rock solid and pulls out all kinds of unbelievable oddities.

The CRB comes with trays and medium brushes. Interlink sells a tote (Rick does not) that will hold the trays while you transport the machine.

We use the 10 inch unit. Takes up less space in the vans, but also when I had the daughters, was easier to handle. It still has some good weight to it. Ours came with the white brushes, and we never changed them out. Seems to do what we need and doesn't seem to bloom the carpet tips.

We also like them on stairs.

We only use them as agitators at this time. We do prevac, but these will not remove as much soil as doing a prevac, then agitate. The units do come with the trap trays, but we tend to not use them.

Really like them on Tile and Grout for agitation.

I wonder if this small unit wouldn't help speed up things for you Ofer as well as be a bit more convenient to use in some of your situations. We carry it in with one hand....it still is a bit heavy, but easier to handle then the larger ones.
