Is this company doing business any different these days?

I looked but did not find any comments on here in the last 6 months. I see older threads but no new information.

Just would like to know if they are qualifying the leads better now?

I don't really know much about this. All I know is a guy from another forum moved from Mississippi to Pigsville. Of course, he looked me up as soon as he hit town. He gets his leads from Home Advison and a tiny bit off of Google searches. He seems to be getting leads in some of the crummiest areas of town and is telling me about a lot of customer problems. Like not being there, cancelling at the last minute and having proposal problems ... price shoppers.

The name "Service Magic' doesn't say much about who they are as the new name "Home Advisor".

I'm betting they paid a big ad agency to create a new identity for them, one that is more recognizable as to what they do and and create a better image for them.

Are they still the scabs they used to be selling shitty leads to suckers? We have never dealt with them.

I was thinking they made a bad name for themselves .. so start fresh with a new name. Otherwise you'd think they would want to attach "formerly Service Magic" to the new name. Home Advisor is a catchy name. They're pretty much a broker company. The middle man. Not sure if they care who meets up with who as long as they get paid.

That's the real problem with them. You can change the name and image but if they are still just about the same thing then I don't care to deal with them.

Where they hurt people like Angie's list is its free, no membership.

Buying leads sucks balls, I'd gladly pay for work but not for leads.

It's what the b&s carpet cleaners do(change the name when "things" go bad) why not them!

I believe this is the same company the Rob-board poster who moved into my area uses. He is CONSTANTLY complaining of the democrats he gets off those "leads".
