First of all from reading his website I doubt he could be both a Restoration Marketing Guru and a SEO wiz. He probably farms SEO out.
SEO is so massive and changes so fast no way could you do that, teach realtors and insurance adjusters and coach owners on how to get more water jobs.

I look for specialists in both those areas.

I had sent my Vice President from my previous company to Dicks 3 day class. Dick has a very solid program that can benefit any restorer. I'm not certain about carpet cleaning, but restoration, yes. As I recall, Dick was formerly with Service Master at an executive level.

Yes the stop drop & roll doesn't work for developing a relationship when too much of the focus is spent on delivering goodies and not enough time is spent on selling the company. Agents are too worried about losing their book of business to the internet to care about some cookies, donuts or promo items left to them.

The money thing, its been a long time coming. We've never bought into that concept and felt it has just gotten way out of hand and something needed to be done.

The insurance repair industry is very volatile as programs and ways of adjusting claims are changing. Not necessarily to the benefit of the restorers.

Richard, I agree with not using money as a way to lure plumber referrals. So far as agents ~ many of my steady referral sources are from captive agents; State Farm, American Family and even an All State agent. Anyone who believes that Vendor programs can not be circumnavigated are losing out on a lot of potential revenue. (I agree with most that program work can suck) The doughnuts, cookies and other premiums are nothing more than tools used to soften the unexpected walk in.

Sales reps MUST KNOW by the 3rd visit if an agent is going to serve as a referral source.
