I have the mini stretcher but rarely do it anymore. I have two great guys I refer it to that can do amazing things far beyond my skills.

I haven't used my knee kicker in over a year. It just kicks your knees. I rented a stretcher last year. not worth the hassle. Find an installer who does repairs.

find an installer that isn't an alkie, drug addict or without some other "personal problems" (which is damn near impossible it seems)
and sub or refer them

..L.T.A.

It wont be easy, that's for sure

We're lucky to have a very skilled guy here who loves side work.

The guy we referred before him started hitting on my customers..

I got lucky and found a guy on angie's list that does a great job. He is very old school and is not cheap but does a great job. To be fair though I always explain that while he charges more, he does a lot more than the other carpet installers that claim to know how to do carpet repairs and proper installs.

Its simple, if I run across work that I can not do, and I get asked enough, I learn really quick how to do it. Depending on your niche, spot dyes, repairs or restretches become a huge portion of the day. In the apt industry, where I hang out, it can easily add a few hundred to your daily totals.........Now top that with a few ozone generators, and you can easily hit the magical 1 k a day that so many want..........but just cant find out how.............Well, here's your answer...........

It's a lot simpler today, both in equipment and on your body.

I sold my power stretcher, and no longer use a knee kicker.

TriForce stretcher - Kool Glide - a Cookie Cutter for some hacks :winky:

Plus various instruments of destruction & various blades/cutters to lift carpet and re-fix.

Did an hours job yesterday for AU$275.00

I'm not complaining, four small bonded inserts.

I bought Barry's CD/DVD set quite a few years back, only had to get it re-made onto the format to work in Oz computers.

Invaluable, would recommend it for anyone contemplating this type of money maker.

I work alone so not sure how to over come that part of the job.

I would love to pick you brain.
I have a tri force and absolutely love it............BUT, I only do restretches and absolutely hate installs, and I do it solo literally every day.........Its not hard at all, but it is a skill that isnt picked up in a day. carpet dye, carpet repair and restretches are huge and I'm grateful my ignorant competition isnt catching on. I will say, for the amount of time invested, Ozones are HUGE money makers, and kick myself for not buying a few earlier.

the tri force is made by superior tools.........Just google tri force carpet stretcher. They have the frame only where you can attach a power stretcher head, and then they have the complete system..............They recently came out with a mini version that breaks down for storage. I'm really wanting one of those........Its main purpose is for closets and hallways, but for what I do......( knocking out wrinkles), its ideal.
